Today was the running of the Iracing Indy 500. 200 laps around the yard of bricks, in search of one of the
most coveted trophies in all of Motorsports. This year Mark Agee the owner of Agee Motorsports would
make his rookie attempt at the event. “I’ve never ran these cars before, so I’m out of my comfort zone.”
“Hopefully we can keep our nose clean, and get some good seat time, “ Agee said. “I can say one thing these
things are fast!”

After qualifying at over 227 mph for his 4 lap average, Agee would roll off 14th out of 33 cars for his first ever
Indy car event. The race would start off nice and smooth running in P15, but an early wreck which he did a great
job of avoiding would move him up to P10. After the early yellow, a couple more cautions would slow the event
In it’s first dozen laps. Agee was saving fuel during these yellows and would pay off as the race went green for
many laps after the early yellows, with Mark running in P8. The leaders would need to start making green flag pit
stops, and in the middle of these stops Mark had moved up to P4, and another yellow would come out 2 laps before
he was to make his green flag stop. Major break for the team, as they pitted and came back out running P6.
The race would have another green flag stretch, but would have another yellow before pit stops were due again.
Agee would come out running P10, after a bit of a slow pit stop, but moved back up to P9, and was just running laps
mapping out the fuel strategy for the remainder of the race, and the race was on a long green flag run, Mark was
chasing down 6,7, & 8th place cars, when the car got a big push off of turn 4, and the car got into the outside wall pretty
hard, and it shot the car across to the inside wall, and then ended up head on into the end of the pit wall abutment.

The day was over after completing 110 of the 200 laps. We caught up with Agee as he exited the infield care center.
The visibly upset driver was asked what happened. “I’m not really sure what happened, the car had started getting
a little tight, and I was trying to stay in the draft of the cars ahead to help save some fuel.” “And the car just came off
of turn 4 and wouldn’t turn, and I clipped the wall, and it shot me over into the inside wall, and I was basically a passenger
at that point.” “ I think the hit on the inside wall knocked the steering out, cause I seen it heading for the abutment, and I
was trying to get it steered down pit road but it wouldn’t respond, so I just locked it down, and shut my eyes.” Agee said.
“ It wasn’t the result we were wanting, but we made a pretty decent showing considering I’ve never driven these cars In
a race before.”

The team packed up there pit box early, and at the end of the event they were credited with a 17th place finish. Not the
result they were looking for but, not bad considering they had never ran this car, or track before.
