This coming weekend the Agee Motorsports team will tackle one of the toughest events of the year, and one that is missing from the trophy case at Team HQ. This time the team is bringing a trio of entries to the twice around the clock enduro.

1st off is the GTP entry that will be challenging for overall honors to win this classic event. The Porsche 963 GTP will be piloted by Robert Cancian, Jeroen Hannink, John Langan, Mark Schindel, and team newcomer Nick Melillo.

The 2nd entry will be a Dallara P217 LMP2 entry for drivers Todd Marimpietri, Mark A Wilson, Dave Hill, Mark Kedrowski, and Shane Hunter.

The 3rd entry will be in the GT class in the teams venerable BMW M4 GT3 EVO, and it will be piloted by Mark Agee, David Hudson, Nathan Lafayette, Christoph Brandstetter, and Rene Reid.

Friday January 9-10, 2026

Team owner Mark Agee would make 2 attempts at the Iracing ROAR tune up for the Daytona 24 Hours, the first one was on Friday January 9th, in the 5 pm split.

For the first attempt he would be driving the teams brand new Ford Mustang GT4! Mark elected not to qualify the car, and would roll off P50 out of 59 cars. This field was a mixture of LMP3, and GT4 machinery.

The race got off to a rough start, as the field was hampered with many 1st lap incidents, and crashes. However Mark was able to negotiate these, and moved up 10 positions on the first lap! He would continue making steady progress up through the field, and at the first pit stop was running 2nd in class!! He would re-enter the event running P6, but with P3,4-5 firmly in sight. Shortly after the pit stop disaster would strike, as he would crash the Mustang hard into the barriers, just after the high speed kink, heading towards turn 5. After the car was towed back to the pits, the Salem, Va driver was asked what happened, “Driver ran out of talent, I guess, not really sure to be honest.” “Car had been so good all afternoon, and it just got loose as I came through the kink.” “It was a very hard hit, car is destroyed.” “I’m just so gutted for this team, that worked so hard” Agee said. The crew was able to get the car back on track miraculously but the damage was done, and they brought home a very disappointing 23rd place finish in class, 40th overall, which was certainly not indicitive of how they performed.

For the 2nd attempt at the Iracing ROAR, Mark would pull out the teams Ligier JSP320 LMP3 prototype in the 7:00 am split on January 10th. This field again would be LMP3, and GT4 machines, with no TCR cars in the field.

After the disappointment just less than 24 hours earlier, the team was a bit more upbeat, as a top 10 speed was posted in practice. This was followed up by a strong P8 in qualifying!! The team was liking it’s chances, and was hopeful of a good result. Mark did not disappoint, after dropping back to P11 on the start as the field began to sort itself out, he would once again, as he had done the day before begin his climb towards the front. By the time the first pit stop rolled around Mark found himself running P3, and came out from the stop running P5. But as was the case the day before trouble would strike shortly thereafter, just not in the same form as the day before. After getting some minor damage from another car, the crew would lose 3 minutes in the pits for repairs, but on exit Agee would be given a black flag for speeding in the pits, and was forced to do a drivethru to clear the penalty. After a fairly drama free remainder of the event, Agee was able to bring the car home in 6th position! A much better result than the day before. A jubilant driver was interviewed after the race, and said “I’m pretty happy with this result, after the disappointment of yesterday, but I also feel I let another possible podium, get away.” “The car was so good, the traffic was insane today, but we prevailed.” “Thankfully we aren’t taking 2 torn up cars home, that is a great feeling”, now we begin to get prepared for the big race next weekend.” Agee said.
